Here’s a sketch from this morning at the coffee shop.
Yesterday we had winter storm Hunter move through glazing us with a bit of ice and sleet and then about 4 to 6 inches of snow. This morning we woke up to a winter wonderland. I love the way the snow looks on the hemlock and coneflowers. The cats are trying to stay entertained from the […]
I started a new sketch book for watercolor sketching, my goal is to do several a week. We had our first snow here in Columbus. I love how it looked in the garden sticking to dried up plants. Behind the fence there are several buildings that all appeared grey. I blocked them in and […]
I’ve been taking some time for myself this summer. I was overwhelming myself with trying to do all the ‘right’ things and my health began to suffer. On top of that, I received a promotion and made full-time where I work and it became too much for me to try and do it all. I […]
Earlier this month I went to Darby Creek to do some sketching. Below are some of the sketches I came home with. If you subscribed to my monthly letter you got to read more about my experience. You can sign up for it here. This was my first time taking out my travel sketch bag […]

I went out to Darby Creek Metro Park, which is not too far from Columbus, OH. I was plien air sketching down by the creek and after a while of quietly working I had several avian visitors make themselves known. Below is a sketch from my journal.
